Pokémon Gold spans 16 gyms across Johto and Kanto with a day/night cycle and 251 Pokémon in the dex. This randomized version scrambles all 251 across wild areas and trainer teams while keeping the dual-region structure intact. Finding a Lugia in Union Cave or a Raikou on Route 42 is just as likely as anything else.

Gold's dual-region scope makes it one of the longest normal randomizer experiences on GBC — 16 gyms of randomized content plus the post-game Kanto. The day/night encounter system adds a layer of unpredictability beyond the randomization itself, since morning, afternoon, and night runs on the same route yield different results.
