About Pokémon Black
Pokémon Black normally restricts wild encounters to Generation 5 Pokémon only until post-game. This randomizer breaks that constraint entirely — any of the 649 Pokémon can appear anywhere in Unova from the very first route. The strong Black storyline with N, Team Plasma, and the Pokémon liberation narrative remains completely intact.
Breaking Black's artificial Gen 5-only encounter restriction is the primary reason to randomize this game — the full 649-Pokémon pool on Route 1 is a significant improvement. N's storyline, in which Pokémon speak to him and argue for liberation, plays out with entirely different Pokémon than intended, which adds an unexpected dimension to the narrative.
