Pokémon Heart Gold Extreme Randomizer brings full typing, evolution, and move randomization to the Johto rebuild. Heart Gold's version-specific events and Pokémon are rolled into the extreme random pool with no special treatment. The Pokémon-following mechanic stays, so your extreme-randomized lead partner walks with you through all of Johto and Kanto.
Heart Gold's 16-gym Johto and Kanto structure means extreme randomization applies across the longest dual-region game in the series. Ho-Oh's climactic encounter at Tin Tower has an extreme-randomized typing and moveset, so the legendary showdown at the end of your Johto journey is a genuine unknown.
