Pokémon Silver mirrors Gold's Johto and Kanto adventure with its own version-exclusive lineup including Vulpix, Meowth, and Skarmory. With encounters fully randomized, version exclusivity disappears — every Pokémon from the Gen 2 pool can appear on any route. The day/night system still drives encounter tables, so your morning and evening runs will differ.

Silver's 16-gym dual-region adventure is the ideal length for a randomized run — long enough to build a full team across many biomes, familiar enough to navigate without a guide. The day/night cycle means dawn fishing in the Ruins of Alph and nighttime cave routes each produce different results from the same randomized seed.
