Physical and special moves follow Gen 3 mechanics, making certain extreme-randomized movesets uniquely powerful or strange.

Fire Red's Gen 3 engine handles extreme typing randomization cleanly — ability slots exist for all Pokémon, so ability randomization produces varied and interesting results across the full 386. The Sevii Islands post-game extends the extreme content well beyond the main Kanto badge run, giving this more extreme-randomized territory than the GBC Kanto versions.
