Liquid Crystal's GBA engine applies Gen 3 mechanics to Johto's Pokémon in all their randomized forms — abilities, updated movepools, and cleaner battle AI make this a sharper Johto randomizer than native GBC Crystal. The expanded post-game content beyond the main story gives Liquid Crystal more randomized territory than most Johto options.
