Pokémon Shiny Gold is Zel's pioneering Gold remake on the FireRed engine — one of the first serious attempts to faithfully recreate Johto in GBA form, predating the official HGSS remakes. This randomized version shuffles all encounters across Shiny Gold's Johto and Kanto remakes while preserving the classic 16-badge structure. The original Gold storyline through a GBA lens with a fully randomized Pokémon roster.

Shiny Gold was a landmark hack when released — the first serious GBA Johto remake before HGSS existed — and it remains a clean randomizer base that handles GBA mechanics well. The classic 16-badge dual-region structure gives this randomizer plenty of content, and the GBA engine provides a smoother experience than native GBC Gold.
